School Clubs

Clubs Timetable

As a result of parent feedback in October, we have developed our clubs extensively.  We now feel that there is a much broader variety of extra-curricular activities on offer to all children of all ages as each of these clubs (unless indicated) is available to any year group.

See below for an example of the clubs that have run this year.  More exciting clubs to come in September!

Football, Field Gun and Allotment Club will run at various times during the year also.

Craft Club A chance to get creative with a range of craft materials.  Come and get stuck into a selection of great crafty activities. Mrs. Pasmore
Cross Country Club

(Years 3 and 4)

Do you enjoy getting fresh air and being outdoors?

Then this is the club to try!  There are a few routes around Torpoint and then the chance to take part in the Landrake Run (a tough 3 miles!) in March alongside hundreds of other children.

(We need parent helpers for this please!)

Netball Club

(Years 5 and 6)

You will learn the different passes to use, what the different positions are, how to defend and shoot and then play some mini-matches. Miss. Thomas
Calligraphy Club For those ‘neat’ handwriters who would like to learn a new skill.  Using a lot of pen control, you will learn three angled pen strokes, triangular lettered alphabets, presenting your name or short rhyme and decorating for display. Mrs. Perry
Pottery Club Learn how to sculpt clay and then decorate your creations.  Perfect club if you like making things and getting your hands dirty. Mrs. Fitzpatrick and Miss Rundle
Board Games Club Learn to play different board games (both traditional and new).  Design and make your own board games to be taken home. Mrs. Marks
Debating Club In Debating Club you will decide upon a current issue to debate, choose a side to support, research their argument and take part in structured debate following debating rules.  This club will improve children’s confidence and speaking and listening skills.

Science Club In science club, you will be looking at some investigations that you may not normally get to do in your usual science lessons.  Combining fun, interesting experiments with scientific understanding, you will be planning and investigating a variety of experiments from creating parachutes for eggs to making alien blood! Mrs. Denyer and Miss Bartlett
Mindfulness Colouring Club Working with your hands is one of the best ways to soothe anxiety and eliminate stress.  This activity offers a practical exercise in mindfulness that draws on your creativity and hones your focus.  A great way to chill with friends after a busy day. Mrs. Bryant
Ukulele Club Learn all about chords, finger placement and then learn how to play some of your favourite songs.  There might even be the chance for a mini concert for parents at the end of the last session. Mr. James
Cross Country Club

(Years 5 and 6)

Striking and Fielding Games Development of skills in: Dartmoor Rounders, Bucket Rounders, Rounders and Kwik Cricket with the possibility of a competition or tournament at the end of the sessions. Mr. Nicholson
Craft Club If you want to have fun learning and creating awesome things, this is the club to join.  We learn about and make traditional and new crafts which you can take home and share with your family. Mrs. Maynard

Green Club The perfect club if you like spending time outside, tending plants and looking after the outdoor environment of the school. Mrs. Evans
Lego Club Do you fancy listening to some good music and making Lego Technic models that are over 20 years old?  Retro model making will be the perfect calming club after a busy day. Mr. Hamlyn
Tag Rugby

 

Learn all of the skills to become the next Owen Farrell in this non-contact sport.  Lots more sports to come from this company! Alex (Cornish Cricket Company)
